    Purpose Summary: 

    The production operations A feeds materials into or removes materials from machines or equipment that is automatic or may be tended by other workers. 


    • Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
    • Count, inspect materials, and sort boards for defects to ensure conformance to specifications. 
    • Unload boards from hand trucks or pallets to sawmill deck and position boards on table for cutting. 
    • Feed boards into the moulders and/or saws.
    • Remove materials and products from machines and equipment and stack on racks or trucks, using hand tools and moving devices.
    • Band finished work pieces, using hand tools and banding equipment. 
    • Performs daily maintenance of equipment and area cleaning requirements.
    • Maintains accurate records and logs and operates in accordance with BlueLinx policies and safety standards.
    • Mechanical aptitude is required and used to control machine operations including minor equipment repair, identification of problems, and correcting problems.
    • May also operate a forklift (not a job requirement).


    • Reading and writing English.
    • Must have good math skills (add subtract multiply divide).
    • Must know patterns sizes, material grade and species. 
    • General knowledge of computers.
    • Able to lift up to 75lbs.
    • Able to climb, reach, bend, and pull. 
    • Years of experience: 6 months – 1 year experience.
