    Purpose Summary: 

    The Production Operations A-MillWork feeds materials into or removes materials from machines or equipment that is automatic or may be tended by other workers. 


    • Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
    • Inspect materials and sort boards for defects to ensure conformance to specifications.
    • Unload boards from hand trucks or pallets to sawmill deck and position boards on table for cutting. 
    • Remove materials and products from machines and equipment and stack on racks using hand tools and moving devices.
    • Performs daily maintenance of equipment and area cleaning requirements.
    • Maintains accurate records and logs and operates in accordance with BlueLinx policies and safety standards.
    • May be required to pull staples from lumber
    • May be required to record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed.
    • Learn Species and patterns. 


    • Reading and writing English.
    • Must have good math skills (add subtract multiply divide).
    • Must know patterns sizes, material grade and species. 
    • Knowledge of raw materials and production processes
    • Knowledge of machines and tools
    • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
    • Able to climb, reach, bend, and pull. 

     Years of experience: 6 months – 1 year experience.
